Goalden Globe Awards 2015 Ceremony!

Once a year, the great names in our wonderful sport come together to celebrate the occasionally unsung heroes in the game and on Saturday evening the Goalden Globes were held in Coventry.

Nominees, friends, family, coaches, volunteers and a selection of England stars made their way to the Ricoh Arena in their finest outfits  as they got into the roaring 20s Great Gatsby theme.

The opening award of the evening was the National Long Service, sponsored by Vitality. Congratulations went to Lynne Booth, Susan Danson, Hilary Flint, Heather Gleadall, Christine Kelso, Helen Lillie and Mary Yardley.

The Pass on Your Passion scheme rewards some of our fantastic volunteers and we were on hand to thank Georgia Ashworth, Antonia Chaytor, Laura Kelly, Rachel King, Erin McCabe, Carla McShane, Chloe Piper and Amber Sorsby.

The winner of the Young Volunteer Award, sponsored by Fiat, was Paige Jackson. Kats Netball Club picked up the award for Outstanding Netball Club, sponsored by Team Colours.

Grassroots Coach Award sponsored by Asics was next up and it was Jean Leigh who came out on top in a competitive category. The winner of the Grassroots Officials Award, sponsored by Movelat, was Danny Neill.

Sarah Davies collected the Teacher Award, sponsored by Gilbert with Val Bentley picking up the Mary Bulloch Administrator Award, sponsored by Harrod.

There were two winners of the Muriel McNally Grassroots Award, sponsored by Netball UK. Congratulations went to Mary Yardley and Dayl Dufrane.

The Unsung Hero Award, sponsored by Benecos, was awarded to Beryl Webb. A regular fixture at the Marion Smith Championships, Friars JMs, were worthy winners of the Inclusive Award.
